Mechanical Project Engineer - Arlington, Texas

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Prepare layout drawings for the assembling and manufacturing of the company’s products.

2. Use computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop and maintain designs.

3. Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings).

4. Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.

5. Sketches rough layout of machine and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages, and location of holes.

6. Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.

7. Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of products, sub-assemblies, parts, and other equipment/materials.

8. Draws finished designs from sketches and/or from direction of engineering staff.

9. Collaborates with Engineers to determine manufacturing tolerances, product design specifications, and other technical requirements.

10. Evaluates own work for completeness, accuracy, meeting standards, and requirements.

11. Updates Drafting and Engineering Standards.

12. Assists with maintaining an organized engineering file system for Production Drawings and Engineering Documentation.

13. Provide focus and assistance to the engineering staff by data entry, collection and coordination of processes.

14. Communicates with Operations, QA, and Engineering regarding new and revised prints.

15. Makes copies of drawings and maintains information regarding changes to company and process database.

16. Collaborates with Mechanical Engineer to determine manufacturing tolerances and specifications.

17. Supports Engineering department by completing other engineering documentation processes.

18. Prepares orthographic and isometric drawings for use in catalog illustrations and other marketing literature.

19. Performs other drafting tasks as assigned by the Product Design Engineer.

20. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Education/Training

Associate's degree (A. A.) from a recognized CAD training facility or technical school or equivalent related experience and training of 4 to 6 years in CAD systems will be considered.

Experience

1-3 years design drafting experience using company 3D computer aided drafting software along with previous 2D AutoCAD experience and knowledge.
