Description:
Our client is seeking a Laboratory Associate for their quality lab. The Lab Associate is responsible for aiding the daily operations of the lab which includes, testing, basic report writing, clerical paperwork, and daily clean up of the lab space.
Shift: 9am-6pm
Primary Responsibilities:
• Perform test(s) related to projects and evaluate results to ensure they are meeting test standards.
• Report results to customers in a report format standard.
• Respond professionally to customer inquires via e-mail or phone, if needed.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is performing properly, and if not, notify Polymer Science Manager, operations manager, or IT if not able to correct personally.
• Work with visiting customers to meet their needs.
• Be able to multi-task on instrumentation/tests to ensure projects are completed in a timely fashion.
Primarily ASTM test methods with some analytical chemistry instrumentation like FTIR or Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC).
Degree in chemistry preferred but not required. Injection molding and/or Polymer science experience desirable.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree is not required but is a nice to have. Must be able to lift up 70 pounds.
Typical Day to Day - The candidate would spend most of their time testing samples, logging projects in and out, some report writing, and keeping their lab spaces clean.
Additional Duties:
• Maintain a clean workplace.
• Organizes projects into log folder
• Make sure results and samples track with project folder.
• Maintain and dispose of project samples after standard holding period.
Knowledge/Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required or High School graduate/GED with10 years of polymer laboratory testing experience.
• Knowledge of all tests and testing techniques.
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards.
• May require overtime according to business situations, including working on weekends or holidays.
• May require some domestic travel.
• Ability to travel via automobile, airplane or other means of transportation.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Good time management skills.
• Flexibility.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and company specific programs.
• Ability to work in team environment.
• Attendance at job-related training classes in the U.S. and overseas as requested or agreed upon by management.
