Actalent is Hiring a Construction Administrator Near Baltimore, MD

Description:

  • Actalent is looking for a Construction Administrator to perform the following duties and activities.
  • Review and answer RFI's with input from engineers and design staff when needed. Review Includes construction document interpretations and to coordinate effectively with design team and clients. Review, approve, and comment upon contractor payment requests.
  • Develop cost estimates for construction change orders.
  • Provide review, commentary, and cost analysis of contractor change order proposals. Log submittals and supporting documentation through the duration of a project. Review materials submittals for compliance with quality requirements, design drawings and specifications. Review contractor schedules and provide oversight regarding contractor progress. Review and process as-built documents to allow the client to have the most up to date set of completed work documents for future use. Review and comment on project Operation and Maintenance Manuals and ensure compliance with the project requirements. Attendance at and participation in pre-solicitation meetings. This occasionally includes being the meeting leader and organizer on behalf of the client.
  • Assist contractors in interpreting contract documents to ensure adherence with design and construction requirements while monitoring contractors’ execution of project installations. Document construction activities and evaluate progress of contractors during the execution of projects.
  • Take progress photos and videos as contractually required. Attending a pre-construction meeting to establish roles and responsibilities for contractors, owners, and owners’ representatives.
  • At the project substantial completion or a prescribed phase of the project, conduct a punch-out inspection of completed work and make a follow up visit (if required) to verify work has been installed according to contract drawings and specifications and according to applicable codes.
  • Review Test and Balance (TAB) reports. Frequent travel to project sites; this usually entails a partial or full day away from the office. Review design projects before their final submission for “constructability”.
  • Develop and maintain a “common issues” document for periodic review and discussion with the design teams. Occasional overnight travel to project sites for meetings and/or inspections.

  • 5 years as a Construction Administrator
  • Experience working within MEP construction
