Actalent is Hiring a Blood Bank Technologist Near New York, NY
We are hiring for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift blood bank technologists for a well known hospital in Manhattan, NYC!
Qualifications:
1. NYS State Medical Technologist license
2. Minimum of 1 years experience working as a technologist in a clinical lab (blood bank preferred)
3. strong communication skills, able to communicate via email, comfortable with share drive, Microsoft outlook
Job Duties:
- Collecting blood donations from donors and preparing them for testing
- Conducting tests to determine the blood type and compatibility of donors and recipients
- Ensuring proper storage and handling of blood products to maintain their integrity
- Performing quality control procedures to ensure accurate test results
- Labeling and tracking blood products to prevent mix-ups or contamination
- Providing support to healthcare professionals in selecting appropriate blood products for transfusion
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of blood donations and test results
- Adhering to safety regulations and protocols to prevent the spread of infection in the blood bank
