Description:

Actalent is seeking an important addition to one of our largest programs in the area. We provide an onsite professional service resources to support a fleet of prototype heavy duty vehicles, focusing on powertrain electronic control and diagnosis. This individual will be responsible for mechanical systems (physical hardware of the engine/trans/ATS/axle) on several validation vehicles, including multiple electric's. Using data extracted from the vehicles, they will diagnose powertrain system faults and participate in weekly meetings collaborating with Detroit colleagues. It is also required to collaborate with several other teams with varying disciplines to delegate vehicle status.

Duties:

• Prepare, troubleshoot and support reliability and engineering vehicles
• Diagnose vehicle powertrain issues pertaining to performance and fault codes
• Communicate issues and test results within customer Powertrain Engineering from Reliability Growth and Engineering vehicles through data reduction and fault code root cause analysis
• Develop post processing tools to analyze data more efficiently
• Schedule time according to established job priorities
• Conduct vehicle experiments to determine hardware, software, and calibration parameter specifications that best meet the technical performance requirements of the project
• Complete project work and draw conclusions and make recommendations.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or Military training highly preferred (Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Avionics, Navy Nuclear, Diesel Technology or similar); Bachelor's degree may be considered but is not necessary
• 1-2 years of professional experience is required - internship, automotive club or military experience (automotive or equipment fleet) acceptable
• Automotive interest and/or experience (having worked in a mechanic/automotive shop, training programs, extensive hobbies)
• Skilled within mechanical systems required; mechatronics, electrical and control systems experience is a bonus
• Ideally experience with data analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
• Programming/coding experience with Matlab, Python, C, C , C#, or Java (don't need all of them), or ability and willingness to learn
• Technical aptitude and problem solving skills
• Strong computer skills – MS Windows/Office and ability to learn new programs
