This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for automotive service and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Your day will be a dynamic one as you interact with customers and work through the ins and outs of the administrative side of the collision repair process. Your tasks will vary throughout the day, both standing and sitting and computer work and not, so that before you know it you will be helping wind down operations for the day. Motivated extroverts will thrive in this job. You will talk with people throughout the day, from customers to insurance companies to vendors, both in person and by telephone and email. A repair process is like a journey, and you will see customers from the beginning to the end when their vehicles look like new again.
Acme Body Shop is a solid South Portland business celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. We are family owned and operated, with current ownership of 35 years, and have an excellent reputation. Our operations are tightly run and there is an efficient workflow both in the office and on the shop floor. We are looking for an applicant who would thrive in this environment, is a quick learner, works well with others, is ready for the challenge and is comfortable multi-tasking. Confidence is key.
Besides the personal interactions noted above, responsibilities include: inputting customer information to start estimates, setting up customer repair folders, assist customers in scheduling repairs, coordinating rentals, and importing insurance estimates. The expectation is that you will be interested in learning to understand estimates and be incrementally taught the basics of the collision repair process. While it will not be your primary focus, you will eventually be cross trained to start writing basic estimates and to understand how to order parts. You will also follow up with customers to ensure their satisfaction with our services. You may have to field customer concerns or complaints, and that should be done in a professional manner. The Shop Manager, however, manages those types of issues.
Skills:
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with customers
- Knowledge of vehicles helpful but not required
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address customer inquiries or complaints
- Proficient computer skills to navigate software and input information accurately
- Strong organizational skills to manage customer records and follow-up activities
Come work with our experienced and friendly staff. You will not be a number with us – but rather a part of the Acme family. Compensation conversations will follow and are based upon experience applicable to the job. Benefits are available, including health insurance, 401K, employee discounts, PTO, and an a la carte insurance selection where you choose supplemental benefits. This is a part or full-time position with opportunities for career growth within our organization.
