GENERAL SUMMARY

The Cardiac Rehab Assistant is the communication point person for the department. The Cardiac Rehab Assistant handles phone calls and mail in and out of the department, greets and directs physicians, sales representatives and other people entering Cardiac Services departments. Responsible for faxing and ordering for all related departments.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High School diploma or equivalent, computer skills, medical terminology, knowledge of office procedures, excellent grammar and spelling, EKG class within 6 months of hire and ability to transition into clinical area when needed. Possess strong customer service skills, phone etiquette and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of EMR to support retrieval of patient information.
Required Length and Type of Experience
- One year experience in billing medical records in a healthcare setting.
Required Licensure or Certification
- Current CPR certification
Required Physical and Environmental Demands
- Ability to sit for long periods of time, constant finger/hand motion, some light lifting and bending.
