Achievement House Cyber Charter School is seeking a Social Studies Teacher to join our outstanding faculty of teachers for the 2024-2025 school year!
Achievement House Cyber Charter School, headquartered in Exton, PA is a 100% online cyber charter school serving grades 7 through 12. We pride ourselves in being student focused with all that we do. We strive to provide a supportive and engaging environment for our students and staff daily.
Position Type:Full-Time, 10-month, Exempt position.
Salary:$50,000-$70,000 based on education and experience.
Work Location:We are located in Exton, PA. If over 90 minutes from Exton, exclusively work from home.
Schedule:7:00am-3:30pm or 7:30am-4:00pm. Hybrid in office 1 day per week, or remote work schedule depending on location.
Reports to:
Principal
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver effective PA standards-aligned lessons and assessments for use in the Cyber environment.
  • Design interactive and motivational activities geared toward each individual student’s pace to reinforce student learning.
  • Teach and record live lessons using an online classroom.
  • Grade lesson submissions according to Achievement House protocol and maintain records in an online grade book.
  • Communicate course expectations, class times, and upcoming events to students and parents/guardians.
  • Develop and implement programs of individual and small group help sessions on a regular basis according to student need.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships and communication among students, families, and staff.
  • Collaborate with staff and parents/guardians to assist student’s achieve success.
  • Participate as a proctor with state and local assessments such as PSSA and Keystone testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree and a PA Secondary (grades 7-12) Level I or Level II Social Studies Certification is required.
  • Working in a Cyber School environment is a positive factor.
Required Certificates/Clearances: 
  • FBI Clearances - Fingerprints 
  • Criminal Record Check – State of PA 
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance 
  • TB Test & Physical 
  • Act 168 Disclosure/Release 
  • Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training 
This Job Is Ideal For Someone Who Has:
  • Prior knowledge and experience teaching Social Studies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with students, parents/guardians, staff, and the community.
  • A proven track record in the use of instructional methods, the ability to build professional relationships, solve problems, and plan collaboratively.
  • Ability to be flexible and vary hours to accommodate needs of students, parents/guardians, other teachers, and state-mandated requirements.
