The Role:

ABF Treasury’s purpose is to protect and create value for ABF, both through the direct management of financial risks, and by advising and partnering with businesses across the group. This newly created role will lead ABF Treasury support to our North America businesses and joint ventures, covering corporate finance and funding, liquidity, financial markets risk, and governance. The role is a critical business partner providing on the ground Treasury support and will connect the wider group with the ABF Treasury team based in London.

What You'll Do:

Business Partnering

• Lead Treasury engagement with ABF’s North America businesses, establishing this role as a value add partner to our businesses
• Lead the setup of a Treasury model for supporting Primark store expansion, including cash management, facility support, lock box solutions, and training for local teams

Cash Management & Facilities

• Responsible for cash management in North America, including daily management of ABFNA cash pool, optimising cash balances with ABF London to ensure adequate liquidity and maximising ABF group net finance income
• Lead on management of banking facilities, working with ABF Treasury on appropriate structures
• Lead on US engagement with banks and financial institutions
• Manage ABFNA bank charges and identify opportunities to reduce transaction costs

Cash Flow Forecasting & Funding

• Establish technology enabled 13-week cash flow forecasting across businesses, driving business engagement and understanding monthly variances
• Review North American forecast and budget submissions, focussing on cash flow and working with ABF Treasury to ensure appropriate and efficient capital structures are in place
• Provide Treasury support to ABF joint ventures, including capital structure and return of capital
• Support on the identification and implementation of working capital solutions

Risk Management & Financial Markets Insight

• Understand the financial market dynamics of ABFNA’s businesses, covering FX, interest rate and commodity exposures
• Responsible for the development of business risk management strategies, optimising risk management execution, and supporting the implementation of market risk management activities
• Responsible for North America counterparty credit exposure risk reporting and management
• Support ABF Treasury London on the development and distribution of internal market reporting, identifying market opportunities to execute risk management

Governance

• Provide an objective view on the existing governance structures in place within our businesses, train businesses on Treasury Policies and support ABF Treasury on their annual review
• Responsible for training businesses on the ABF Treasury Policies, supporting any business specific policies, and advising on the annual update of the ABF Treasury Policies
• Responsible for the creation and production of ABFNA monthly Treasury report

Technology

• Identify where technology might be able to unlock improvements across ABFNA and the wider ABF Group
• Support the implementation of Treasury technology initiatives, including cash flow forecasting systems and Treasury Risk Management Implementations

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum 5 Years of Experience
• Curious individual with a drive to understand what makes our businesses successful and enhance our commercial activities
• Strong commercial acumen, with a digital mindset and focus on continuous improvement
• Strong and adaptable interpersonal skills, including influencing skills
• Resilient, with an expectation that Treasury excellence is delivered at all times
• Strong understanding of corporate risk management techniques and products
• Numerate and analytical individual
• Ideally qualified Associate/Member of Corporate Treasurers Association, or equivalent
• Ideally Finance experience within large international businesses, either within a Group Treasury or Risk Function
• Good understanding of accounting standards relevant for Treasury
• Travel 20-30% (need to confirm)
