Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States (US) on a full-time basis. The ACGME will not provide employment sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B Visa or other US employment authorization).

JOB OVERVIEW

The ACGME is looking for a highly skilled Program Evaluation Analyst with extensive knowledge of performance measurement systems and clinical outcomes data. The analyst will assist in developing, implementing, and refining the Clinical Outcomes Program. The analyst will be responsible for supporting the analysis of clinical outcomes data to inform performance improvement initiatives across ACGME-accredited Sponsoring Institutions and their clinical learning environments. Candidates should have knowledge and experience with quantitative and qualitative research, including conducting detailed and complex analyses using advanced statistical methods and interpreting findings for diverse audiences.

The ACGME’s Mission is to improve health care and population health by assessing and enhancing the quality of resident and fellow physicians’ education through advancements in accreditation and education. The organization provides accreditation standards for graduate medical education (GME) programs and their Sponsoring Institutions and monitors adherence to those standards to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality education and patient care. Goals include fostering innovation and improvement in the clinical learning environment. The ACGME established the Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER) Program to assess the clinical learning environment of ACGME-accredited Sponsoring Institutions. The CLER Program emphasizes the responsibility of the Sponsoring Institution for the quality and safety of the environment for learning and patient care.

Clinical outcomes data can provide an additional perspective of the clinical learning environments that host GME. The goal of the Clinical Outcomes Program is to build on existing health care performance measurement systems to assess the quality of clinical learning environments according to the Quintuple Aim, which simultaneously improves patient experience of care, population health, health care practitioner work life, and health equity, while lowering per capita cost.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support all phases of program design and implementation as they relate to performance measurement and clinical outcomes data of clinical learning environments.
  • Support the development and monitoring of key performance metrics to assess clinical learning environments according to the Quintuple Aim.
  • Support scholarly literature reviews on performance measurement frameworks and clinical outcomes data as they pertain to the clinical learning environment and GME, and curate into a usable resource.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure programmatic goals and objectives are met.
