Job Description

JOB TITLE: Receiving Specialist

REPORTS TO: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

FSLA: Non-exempt

JOB SUMMARY: Performs the necessary procedures to receive goods and materials. Performs various warehouse duties including but not limited to recycle program duties. Assists in shipping department when necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Use established procedures to receive products and materials from outside vendors into inventory utilizing IQMS.
  1. Coordinates and organizes the storage of raw materials inventory in a manner that protects the integrity of the product. Maintains recycled materials and keeps dock and warehouse area clean and organized.
  1. Maintains and processes accurate inventory information including raw materials and packaging.
  1. Attends receiving dock, unloading delivery drivers and answering phone calls during normal dock operating hours 8am – 4:30pm Mon.- Fri.
  1. Delivers receivables internally as required.
  1. Performs all necessary recycle program duties.
  1. Assist with Shipping Department duties when necessary
  1. Reports any discrepancies or issues with receiving, shipping, and recycle program to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor.
  1. Assists maintenance in light duty tasks such as assembly of office furniture or components, general building maintenance or basic grounds cleanup.
  1. Follows quality and safety procedures in performing all duties.
  1. Maintains and organizes clean room frocks and other supplies as necessary.
  1. Other duties as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  1. Education/Experience. High school education coursework or GED required. Knowledge of inventory recording and the procedures used to maintain
  2. Computer Skills. Ability to operate personal computer, fax machine, copy machine and telephone required. Experience with Microsoft Office Products required experience with manufacturing software experience preferred.
  3. Language Skills. Ability to communicate courteously with variety of co-workers as well as delivery people or freight representatives.
  4. Mathematical Skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Understanding of conversion between weights measurements such as grains, grams, ounces, pounds, etc.
  5. Reasoning Ability. Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions, forms, and work orders.
  6. Other Skills and Abilities. Ability to drive fork truck, operate pallet jack, move dock plates and carts or other moving equipment. Licensed to use truck to deliver items outside of Accumold as needed. Ability to use small assembling tools – such as drill, screwdriver, pliers, etc.
  7. Supervisory Responsibilities. None
  8. Physical Demands. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent will be required to move small packages, production waste materials, and equipment very often. Will be required to daily move or transport items up to 55 lbs.
  9. Work Environment. The duties of this job are executed in a variety of climates moving from office, production, and warehouse. Noise levels will vary from very low to moderate depending on the location that the work is performed within the facility or grounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Duties occasionally require outdoor exposure.
