AcctPositions is Hiring an Account receivable Near Stamford, CT

Acctpositions -

We are currently seeking an Accounts Receivable Representative for one of our non-profit clients located in the greater Stamford area.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Verify eligibility once a month for all payers
  • Meet with ineligible clients to determine eligibility for insurance
  • Maintain and update a list of clients by payer according to treatment status
  • Track units of service based on sessions to ensure the necessary number of units are on file to eliminate write-offs
  • Maintain and track recert dates of all authorizations to ensure they are completed and submitted prior to due date
  • File written confirmation of authorization in the clinical record to verify the authorization was pre-approved
  • Call insurance companies and obtain eligibility and benefit verification for all commercial and Medicare Advantage Plans
  • Screen clients for eligibility through the HUSKY program and assist in the application process alongside the Entitlement Specialist
  • Follow-up on process to ensure clients are approved for benefits
  • Coordinate with State agencies to ensure clients are receiving the State benefits for which they are entitled
  • Timely data entry of confidential client information into medical records
  • Completion of administrative tasks (faxing, scanning, emailing, filing)
  • Collects client fees, prepares and submits reconciliation report for deposit
  • Perform initial and annual income verification for self-pay clients
  • Review aging reports and follow up with open claims within timely filing requirements
  • Complete special projects as necessary to maximize collections
  • Assume responsibility for resolution of client issues or problems related to billing
  • Timely response to phone calls
  • Maintain a professional demeanor; provide courteous service to clients, staff and visitors
  • Demonstrate effective communication, adaptability and problem-solving skills
  • Create a safe, sanitary, welcoming environment
  • Meet scorecard goals (efficiency and effectiveness)
  • Client records are kept neat, organized and up to date Accountabilities : (the major end results that should be reached in the job function)
  • Timely and courteous response to phones and requests from visitors, clients and staff
  • Knowledge of addiction and mental health treatment services

Education and Experience Required :

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelors Degree in Business or Human Services Field recommended
  • Experience in behavioral health or medical office
  • Experience with financial collection practices; medical records and confidentiality practices
  • Knowledge of state medical benefits and experience communicating with insurance companies
  • Proficient in excel and database management
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Must have strong oral and written communications skills along with the interpersonal skills to work effectively at all levels of the organization and its stakeholders
