We are a growing Alabama accounting and payroll firm located in the Hoover/Pelham and Gadsden area. Our clients use a cloud-based Apex HCM platform to manage the entire employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, time management, benefits, and payroll. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll for all employees accurately and in a timely manner. This role will require a high level of confidentiality and integrity as you will be handling sensitive employee information.

Responsibilities:- Work closely with and develop relationships with our small business clients - Process payroll for all employees in accordance with company policies and procedures - Calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings - Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll - Maintain payroll records and reports - Handle any payroll-related inquiries from employees - Stay up to date on payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance - Assist with year-end payroll activities and reporting

Qualifications:- 2 years of experience in payroll processing- Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations preferred- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel- Strong attention to detail and accuracy- Excellent organizational and time management skills- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality- Strong communication skills
