Job Opening: Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Schedule: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm M-F

Description: Yeshivah of Flatbush is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The Senior Accountant will function as the General Ledger System Super User, be responsible for Financial Reporting and General Ledger Maintenance, and report to the Chief Financial Officer.

Duties:

1. Facilitate timely quarterly close of Yeshivah's General Ledger;
2. Produce quarterly reports in accordance with US GAAP (applicable to Nonprofit Organizations) for Board, Management, and other stakeholders;
3. Support CFO through the annual budget and subsequent forecasts compilation process;
4. Function as a liaison for the external audit team; assist with compiling annual Financial Statements and footnotes;
5. Liaise with Fundraising Department to maintain a pledges receivable inventory and endowment funds records;
6. Collaborate with A/P Coordinator and Payroll Manager to ensure integrity, completeness and accuracy of General Ledger data;
7. Enhance control activities surrounding Financial Reporting;
8. Prepare presentations and reports for Chief Financial Officer, Board/Committee meetings and other audiences, as requested;
9. Research accounting pronouncements and other regulatory guidance as it may relate to Nonprofit Accounting matters, as these may arise;
10. Complete special projects, as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 5 years' experience required; experience supervising staff preferred;
2. Bachelor's degree in a related field required;
3. Experience with nonprofit organizations preferred;
4. Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
5. Proficiency with modern ERP systems preferred;
6. Demonstrated record of outstanding quantitative and analytical skills;
7. Ability to prioritize work to achieve deadlines in a dynamic environment;
8. Strong attention to detail, well-organized, and technologically savvy;
9. Strong written and oral communication skills;
10. Ability to interface with all levels of staff and external constituents in a professional and flexible manner.

Compensation: $80,000-$95,000 DOE, plus benefits
