Access Control Systems is Hiring a Corporate Controller Near Nashville, TN

Corporate Controller
The Corporate Controller is responsible for overseeing accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, job cost accounting, payroll, and cash flow management. This position will manage accounting operations, create accounting statements, and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures to ensure -compliance with an established system of controls over financial and accounting transactions to minimize risks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Oversee and manage multi-location accounting staff to include Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Payroll, and other related functions
  • Ensure compliance with financial and accounting regulations
  • Manage financial reports and documents including balance sheets, income statements, and cashflow statements
  • Perform financial analysis to include job costing, percent of completion, work in progress, and related reporting
  • Manage 1099, state and federal, and payroll related quarterly and annual tax filings and returns
  • Prepare, analyze, and present weekly, quarterly, and annual operating results for each vertical by product and location
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and manage department budgets including regular updates to stakeholders
  • Recommend metrics and benchmarks to measure financial performance
  • Provide financial analysis and variances for the VP of Finance, CFO, and other stakeholders as necessary
  • Establish and monitor internal control processes to ensure accounting activities are consistent and in accordance with legal, regulatory, GAAP, and company policies and procedures
  • Monitor internal audit process including scheduling external auditors and performance of financial risk assessments
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and changes in accounting regulations to maintain compliance
  • Regular attendance at work and provides appropriate flexibility
  • Adherence to safety guidelines and policies
  • Other job related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5 years in senior level corporate accounting role with 3 years as corporate controller in $75M company
  • Expert knowledge of project and construction accounting to include Work in Process (WIP), Percent of Completion (POC), and other project based accounting activities
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting
  • M&A experience including post-acquisition integrations
  • Microsoft Excel Power User
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite platforms including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate complex data verbally, written, and through presentation media to various levels of the organization
  • Excellent time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team
  • As a condition of employment, Guardian will conduct a background check and drug screen
  • Experience in Private Equity owned organization is highly preferred
  • Experience implementing enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is preferred
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or other accounting related certification is highly preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a fast-paced office, attached to a warehouse setting with frequent interruptions. Occasional need to travel to other office locations as necessary.
