Access Behavioral Health Services is Hiring a Certified Peer Support Specialist Near Boise, ID

Are you interested in becoming a Certified Peer Support Specialist to help individuals accomplish self-identified goals of their own with your support? Whether you have your certification or are interested in becoming a CPSS, Access is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual(s) to join our Peer Support team. Training and support are provided throughout this process.

Access Behavioral Health Services has two main office locations in both ADA and Canyon County. We understand the need for more support in our community as others need help maintaining their mental health. This is a great opportunity to be part of a supportive team of professionals dedicated to helping individuals in recovery using the peer model as it was intended. As a Peer Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing community-based peer services to individuals working towards self-directed recovery. Peer Support offers the opportunity to share your lived experiences and assist individuals in making informed decisions. You will create an encouraging, strengths-based environment for peers to connect, exchange ideas, and practice self-care. Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certification as an Idaho Peer Support Specialist or willing to obtain.
  • Access is willing to pay for your training if the candidate agrees to work for the agency for 1 year after obtaining certification.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance coverage. No more than 2 driving violations within the past 3 years
  • Clearance of Idaho Department of Health & Welfare Enhanced criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the behavioral health field
  • Computer literacy and experience with electronic health record management systems
  • Knowledge of community resources

Responsibilities:

  • Follow the Idaho Certified Peer Support Specialist Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct
  • Maintain annual CEU and recertification requirements.
  • Engage in regular supervision with the Program Manager.
  • Attend scheduled supervision meetings as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided meeting agency standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality in written and verbal communication.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with members to provide a safe, supportive environment for them to share their experiences.
  • Facilitate recovery-oriented activities, such as wellness planning and strength based to promote hope & opportunity.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and motivational interviewing techniques to assist members in developing personal goals & achieve them with support.
  • Participate in program evaluation activities as required by the agency, as well as State and Federal regulations.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of each program recipient in accordance with state and federal regulations.
