Director, Technical Product Management – Kiteworks Core Platform
Kiteworks is a highly profitable and growing software company making a meaningful impact in the security and compliance space.
As Director, Technical Product Management you will be a key member of a team leading a bold product vision and roadmap for Kiteworks Core Platform. We are looking for a technical product leader with roots in software engineering and a proven track record in solving difficult problems in a dynamic and demanding business environment. This is a cross-functional role that straddles product management and software engineering. You will need to form deep understanding of Kiteworks server architecture, database, operating system and business logic, as well as its mission, vision and strategy.
As a PM with superior engineering skills, your job is to drive creative product ideas, work with Engineering to develop effective solutions to these ideas, clearly articulate their value, and deliver them as enterprise grade solutions for the Kiteworks customer base in a rapidly moving, innovative environment.
The ideal candidate has 10 years of experience in software engineering and architecture, he/she is analytical and data driven, has a passion for innovation aimed at meaningful business goals, enjoys solving difficult problem under real life constraints, enjoys collaborating with like-minded team members, an effective communicator, and most importantly someone who has both the track record and passion for building products that delight customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Play a lead role in defining business and technology strategies, product roadmap and release plans as they relate to Kiteworks core technology, server architecture, database, operating system and business logic.
  • Work with Engineering to form elegant and effective technological solutions, advising on software architecture, object design, algorithms, component selection and other high impact decisions.
  • Construct business use cases for potential roadmap items.
  • Write specifications, prioritize features, build consensus on product goals with the Product team, Engineering and QA.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management, sales, marketing, business development, engineering and QA to strategize, plan, and build products.
  • Train sales, sales engineering, support engineering on newly introduced features.
Requirements:
  • Understanding of the technical architecture of complex and highly scalable cloud/mobile/web software.
  • Experience designing simple and intuitive solutions.
  • Experience with agile software development processes.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Strong aptitude for determining the optimal way to position products in the market.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience coordinating multiple, time sensitive projects and activities simultaneously.
  • Experience working with teams across the globe.
  • Proven track record in delivering effective solutions to market that delight customers
This position is based in the US, preferably in the San Francisco Bay Area.
