Job Summary:

The Revenue Cycle Specialist is primarily responsible for administering the revenue cycle processes within the organization, including receivables, collections, and payments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participating in audits of insurance carriers and government agencies to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Performs follow-up duties to ensure prompt payment from assigned payers following policies and procedures.
• Follows all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) rules and regulations.
• Communications with peers, patients, visitors and clients are friendly and professional.
• Review and communicate any eligibility or auth denials to the care coordinators to ensure that services rendered will be payable.
• Review and correct any claim rejections to ensure timely billing.
• Post payments to the EMR system to ensure clean AR.
• Review, track and effectively work through all denied claims weekly to ensure optimal payments.

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of medical billing and insurance follow-up
• Basic understanding of insurance remittances and payment posting
• Basic understanding of denials management and appeals
• Good organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working in excel is required
• Experience working in Home Care is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one year of related work experience

Education: High School Diploma or GED Certificate.

Language skills:

• Ability to read and write English.
• Bilingual Preferred

• N/A

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
