Registered Behavior Technician

Georgia Developmental Service (Academy ABA) is looking for passionate and enthusiastic RBT's to join our exceptional Academy ABA team.

You must have experience with children with Autism.

Academy ABA is a progressive, intensive, therapeutic program serving children with Autism in an inter professional, team based environment. The Academy is seeking passionate and motivated RBTs. We encourage growth and development as a team within the organization.

The position is a full time, hourly position with full benefits. In addition to working in our designated centers employees may have the opportunity to provide in home treatment.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Proficient with skill and behavior treatments, ABA Program Development, Behavior Reduction Procedures, Skill Acquisition Procedures, and Staff Training and Supervision

  • In-house RBT 40 hour course available

  • Strong knowledge and deep understanding of behavior analytic interventions with experience delivering these services

  • Excellent writing and communication skills; maintain a high level of organization with the ability to multitask

  • Basic computer skills and be able to use required software

  • Maintain current status regarding required certification

  • Work effectively as a team member, demonstrate flexibility and desire to learn new skills and improve professional qualifications.

  • A minimum of (1) year of experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of Austism

MINIMUM EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in behavior analysis, special education, psychology, social work, speech and language pathology, or related field

  • RBT certification in good standing

  • Training available to receive your Registered Behavior Technician certificate

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned and/or are subject to change based on regulations changes and company standards

  • Physical Requirements: Must be willing and able to lift and or move up ~50 pounds and go from a sitting to standing position frequently throughout the day,

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, move and walk at a brisk pace, sit, and use hands and arms to handle, feel and reach. The position requires the ability to accompany patients anywhere. The employee is occasionally required to stoop or kneel and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree completed or in progress in Education, Psychology, ABA, or Therapy Services AND three (3) years of training experience or clinical therapy experience;
  • (OR) equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Current RBT certification (or ability to renew certification within 90 days of start);
  • Experience working with children who have severe and profound special needs;
  • Experience supporting children in a therapeutic setting;
  • Experience working with adult learners and training adults;
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook;
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and software programs.
