The Social Worker (MSW) is responsible for coordinating all services related to the mental health issues of clients, including diagnoses, assessment of need, and referral as warranted. The Social Worker will provide therapy for clients with special needs and conduct special focus groups for clients (e.g., post-traumatic stress, sexual or other abuse, etc.) The Social Worker will conduct the initial psychosocial history and mental health care upon completion of the inpatient program. This is an in-person role.

The salary for the Social Worker (MSW) is $65,000 - $70,000/annually based on relevant experience.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Conduct initial psychosocial history interviews on all clients during the Admission/Orientation phase.
• Conduct mental health status determination during the Admission/Orientation Phase and at other appropriate times during the Treatment Phase.
• Coordinate all mental health treatment and referrals for clients in all phases.
• Consult with primary counselors on clients with special needs.
• Provide supervision or treatment of all cases requiring social worker-level involvement by managed care or other referral agencies.
• Attends seminars and training on pertinent issues.
• Develop and maintain referral linkages with outside agencies and organizations to meet the needs of program clients.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment teams and case conferences.
• Maintain up-to-date case notes for clients on caseload.
• Work in close liaison with the program Nurse Practitioner-Psychiatrist.
• Other duties in keeping with the scope and nature of the position.

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) required
• 2 years of post-graduate experience providing social work services, preferably serving chemically dependent and/or mentally ill individuals
• Experience in delivering social services in a DHS regulations shelter environment
• Knowledge of DHS policies, procedures, and protocols
• Ability to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretion
• Ability to use business acumen to exercise good judgment and decision-making
• Experience working with Microsoft Office
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
