Job Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for a tenured operational leader to take their career to the next level! The Sales Bench Manager is an experienced, well spoken, and high-energy leader that will provide sales, marketing, and revenue generation support to their assigned portfolio/ownership group. This role will require travel within the portfolio approx. 45 weeks/year. The Sales Bench Manager will provide sales leadership coverage, support, guidance, and training within their assigned portfolio. This role will also be flexible in assignments which could include but are not limited to: Task Force Director of Sales, Sales leader onboarding, planning and execution of new sales, marketing, and revenue management/generation initiatives, support of existing owner, company, and brand sales and marketing programs, identification and implementation of best practices, portfolio wide account maintenance and relationship building, new business prospecting, reporting functions (Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly: Activity Reports, Action Plans, Account Production Reports), creation of Sales Strategic Plans, and other special projects as assigned. The Sales Bench Manager will ensure portfolio revenue performance is consistently optimized, while providing the sales and marketing support necessary for a high market share achievement.

Responsibilities

Education & Experience

  • Must be proficient in Aimbridge company technologies, processes, and best practices.
  • Must be experienced with designated portfolio ownership group with a basic understanding of owner preferences.
  • At least 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred; or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and at least 4 years of related experience.
  • Must be comfortable with travel based on the sales needs of the portfolio; Travel commitment up to 85%.
  • Must be proficient in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office products and Company approved systems.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Must possess highly developed verbal & written communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell, and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients.
  • Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong organization and presentation skills Must have thorough experience with professional selling skills: opening, probing, supporting, closing.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately, as well as convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations with the ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information data etc. from disparate sources and consideration to adjust/modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.
  • Effective time management skills. Must be effective in prioritizing needs and identifying solutions.
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.

Job Duties & Functions

  • Provide on property support in the form of Task Force Sales Leadership, as necessary.
  • Lead new Sales Leader Onboarding and serve as Aimbridge, owner/portfolio, and brand ambassador.
  • Develop managers for future advancement through competency training and corporate sponsored training programs.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for communications with and between above property leadership, portfolio hotels, ownership, corporate representatives, brand representatives, key vendors, and clients.
  • Attend meetings and/or trainings focusing on key initiatives and areas of opportunity.
  • Monitor and track owner/portfolio initiatives and provide progress reports to above property leadership as needed.
  • Participate in owner/portfolio performance reviews as requested.
  • Complete special projects for assigned owner/portfolio as assigned by above property leadership.
  • Approach all encounters and employees in an attentive, courteous, and service oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards as required which will vary according to the needs of the portfolio and its leadership.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality dress code and wearing a nametag when working (per brand standards).
  • Initiate and develop sales trips to portfolio markets and/or feeder markets with a focus on identifying and soliciting accounts and groups that can directly benefit revenue performance targets at all hotels located within the portfolio. In addition, work directly with property-based Directors of Sales / Sales Manager to help with coordination and execution of direct sales efforts.
  • Comply with attainment of individual goals, as well as team goals and budgeted metrics.
  • Complete required corporate, brand and third party (vendor) training modules and become certified to conduct training on-property, as required.
  • Conduct weekly/monthly calls with portfolio sales teams, focusing on key initiatives and areas of opportunity.
  • Champion all Aimbridge and brand sales programs.
  • Provide on property support for, initiative rollouts & SOP creation.
  • Attend all required meetings, webinars and calls as directed by above property.
  • Participate in portfolio Sales Advisory Council (if applicable) and ensure takeaways are logged & tracked accordingly.
