At Abundant Blessings, it is our mission to continue the fight, to end homelessness through providing short-term or long-term crisis supportive housing services and necessary resources, for people who are experiencing homelessness, prolonged poverty, and poor health, have support to lead safe, stable lives as they transition to permanent housing. We do this by employing the most qualified staff, dedicated volunteers and partnerships that believe in everyone’s potential and ability to feel successful as defined in their own terms.

Position Summary:

The Site Coordinator will support the culture of a community-based, client-centered, and trauma-responsive organization. The position will focus on supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness and will assist with the day-to-day operations of the programs’ sites.

Duties/Expectations of all Shifts:

Provide supportive assistance to those living in emergency shelters and permanent supportive housing.

· Assist with setting up rooms, organizing property for client use, receiving of packages, construction of furniture for rooms.

· Fill Shift Handover Report, Safe Count, and Cutlery Count - For shift entry and exit.

· Read and fill out the Shift Handover Report and verify the Safe amount & Cutlery Count. Communicate any vital information to the next Staff.

· Light Housekeeping and maintains custodial functions.

· Clean all Common Areas: Bathroom, kitchen, and communal areas should be wiped, swept, and mopped.

· Room Checks: Walk into all the units and conduct a room check to make sure Client’s bed areas and closets are clean & clutter-free.

· Conduct Rounds (Every Hour): Walk around the facility, walk into the units, and complete chores.

· Check For Client wash days and wash if needed. Use the Laundry Tracker to see which Client needs to wash that day.

· Restock food in the units: Grab food (Noodles, Canned food, ETC.) from our storage and restock the food area in the kitchens for the Clients to use. Unpack and organize the storage area in the garage and make sure everything is neat and accessible.

· If there are items that staff needs to wash items, wash them, then store items neatly.

· Remind and Assist Clients, if needed, to maintain a clean environment.

· Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.

· Ensures that the facility is clean and maintained according to company policy and procedures.

· Conducts and documents regular facilities inspections including rooms, communal areas, restrooms, kitchen, and facility grounds.

· Conduct nightly bed checks to ensure all residents are accounted for.

· Recommends maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications.

· Communicates living space safety precautions to Clients.

· May conduct initial on-boarding of clients enrolling into program.

· Supervision/Monitoring of self-administration of resident medications per physician orders and maintain training in medication distribution per State guidelines (West View site).

· Conduct drug tests if required by point of contact (Project 190, PO, or HealthRight 360).

· Function as the first point-of-contact for all immediate client needs and requests such as phone use, linens, water, etc.

· Monitor and oversee the property including client rooms, communal areas, patios ensuring program guidelines are upheld and that the physical site is well-maintained and safe, including general cleaning duties.

· Be visible on the floor at all times and actively engage and welcome clients.

· Conduct regular, thorough walk-throughs of the facility.

· Create a supportive environment to ensure client progress towards stability.

· Attend relevant staff meetings, trainings, and retreats as scheduled.

· Complete incident reports, update shift logs, and document by uploading into Dropbox, as needed and post in Slack necessary incident reports before the end of each shift.

· Develop effective, trusting relationships with clients and use a client-centered approach that includes trauma-informed care.

· Intervene during crises to actively de-escalate situations, with client and staff safety in mind, using non-violent communications skills.

· Work as part of a team to provide comprehensive, integrated care to individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and substance addiction.

· Communicate effectively, and in a timely manner, with management, peers, and clients.

· Complete staff training and attend department meetings as required.

· Perform security checks/searches as needed.

· Distribute program supplies to residents.

· Maintain client confidentiality at all times, while following agency, state, and HIPAA laws

· Other duties as assigned by upper management.

Skills & Other Requirements:

· Minimum of one year of experience collaborating directly with participants with the homeless population preferred.

· Prominent level of concentration and attention to detail for extended periods of time required. Ability to communicate effectively using all methods of communication with residents of varying ethic, social and economic backgrounds, individuals in the organization at all levels, outside agencies, partner organizations and consultants.

· Experience working with the homeless population along with knowledge of veteran related issues.

· Ability to use good judgement, effectively solve problems and fulfill responsibilities under general supervision.

· Ability to quickly organize and communicate thoughts and to understand communications from others.

· Ability to see, hear, and talk clearly in order to receive instruction and to give empathetic, direct instructions while knowing and understanding your audience.

· Ability to work independently, with others, around others, have verbal contact with others, face-to-face contact with others and prioritize work and make decisions.

· Possess excellent organizational skills, initiative and follow through. Ability to be detail oriented in completing documentation.

· Be detail oriented, able to set priorities, meet deadlines, maintain a professional attitude, conduct and appearance at all times.

· Proficient in office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet use.

Accountability and Review:

· Position reports to:

· Performance review: 3-month probationary period with a performance review, followed by Annual reviews.

Qualifications

· High School Diploma

· Experience In Human Services Field (Preferred)

· Experience in working with at-risk and/or Homeless individuals.

· Understanding of cultural competency, a plus

· Conflict resolution skills a plus.

· Must be able to lift thirty pounds.

· Valid Clean Driver’s License and auto insurance

Employment requirements at time of hire:

· Verification of Employment Eligibility and Background Clearance.

· UA test required after offer of employment.

· TB test required (Not more than (3) months prior to or (7) days after Date of Hire, and renewed annually thereafter)

· CPR and First Aid Certification required within 30 days of employment with the company.

Physical Requirements

The position typically spends time sitting, standing, typing, writing, carrying (max. 25 lbs.), listening, and speaking.
