The Opportunity 

The Integration Management Office Lead will direct and manage a complex portfolio of post-merger acquisition integrations and be responsible for achieving key results. You will set the standard for integration excellence demonstrating a proven, and sustained ability to create a high level of impact across a diverse set of company business units and departments. You will drive integration strategy execution, communications, and the implementation of detailed project plans. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the IMO Leader will oversee workstream leaders covering value creation, business operations and systems, change management & communication, people & culture, and risk management. Additionally, the IMO leader will be responsible for managing the integration governance and stakeholder management strategy. 

Core Responsibilities

Integration Planning and Execution: 

  • Develop comprehensive integration plans that align with Abt’s strategic objectives and M&A value creation goals. 
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective execution of integration strategies, maintaining a focus on value creation, people and culture, and business operations and systems. 
  • Lead the integration governance to include approach, stakeholder engagement, and risk management.

Stakeholder Management: 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all integration-related communications, ensuring clear and consistent messaging to stakeholders. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, as well as with the leadership of acquired entity. 
  • Execute stakeholder analysis process 

Risk Management and Problem-Solving: 

  • Proactively identify risks and issues that may impact integration efforts, proposing and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies. 
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, providing hands-on leadership to surface and address challenges and remove obstacles. 

Performance Tracking: 

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure integration success, including cultural alignment, employee retention, and the realization of expected value creation, and harmonization of business operations and systems. 
  • Provide regular reports to senior leadership on integration progress and any adjustments needed to meet objectives. 

Best Practices and Continuous Improvement: 

  • Develop and refine integration methodologies and tools to ensure best practices in project management, change management, and communication. 
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by soliciting feedback and implementing lessons learned in subsequent integration efforts. 

What We Value: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Fifteen years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree Twelve years of relevant experience. Experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in program management, specifically in M&A integration. 
  • Deep understanding of the professional services government contracting industry and its regulatory environment. 
  • Proven track record of leading successful integrations, preferably in digital focused companies. 
  • Demonstrated experience driving programs forward with cross functional teams. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures and build agreement and alignment. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. 
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.

The position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $140,000 to $200,000. Salary ranges may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
