Summary:

At Abrasive Form we power and protect the planet. As a world leader in high precision Aerospace and Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) machining, we manufacture turbine blades and vanes for many of the largest gas turbine manufactures and allied militaries around the world. We use high precision CNC milling, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and 3 and 5-axis creep feed and CBN grinding.

The Master Scheduler is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of the production schedule in support of the predetermined customer needs, i.e.; purchase order requirements, as well as any modifications and/or revision as a result of negotiations with customer production schedules in machine shop environment.

The successful candidate is intimately hands-on with the operation, energetic, and success driven with deep technical expertise. They will be a natural leader, problem solver, and have strong time management skills. The successful candidate will have a passion for structure, improving processes and a desire to win.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Master Scheduler is responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of the production schedule, including modifications and revisions.

• Expert with customer requirements and scheduling as they pertain to control of internal production flow and customer required deliveries.
• Build business rules into ERP/MES and launch scheduling module in Epicor Kinetic
• Drive throughput and on-time delivery to support business objectives
• Ability to coordinate and prioritize daily workload based on customer demands in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Facilitate daily production meetings in support of customer requirements and communicate delivery dates to responsible departments.
• Manage, facilitate and communicate customer expectations that are outside the realm of original contractual agreements.
• Ability to communicate with customers, internal personnel and suppliers to promote awareness and requirements to support customer demands.

Requirements

Qualifications and Education Required

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of production control experience in a complex machine shop environment.
• Leadership or supervisory experience in a fast paced, complex precision manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP and/or Pull Systems. Epicor experience is highly preferred.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word, and Outlook and web interfaces.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
• Demonstrated ability for exceptional communication, collaboration, and influence skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Experience with Epicor Global Scheduling System is a plus.

Physical Demands

On a daily basis, must be able flex between remaining in a stationary position and/or standing, bending, twisting, and stooping on the manufacturing floor for long periods of time depending on the day, task and business need. Lifting up to 25 lbs. The position may require occasional physical exertion.
