Abrams EyeCare is Hiring a Patient Services Representative- Check Out Near Indianapolis, IN

Are you someone who enjoys providing an excellent customer service experience to patients and guests? As the first point of contact you will be responsible for creating a positive experience for all patients and guests.

Abrams EyeCare is looking to fill several full-time Patient Services Representatives in both our Carmel and West Indianapolis locations. The Patient Services Representative will be completing patient intakes, scheduling appointments via phone and in person, and providing check-out upon completion of services.

Hours vary from 7:30 – 5 pm Monday – Friday. You will also work one Saturday approximately every 4-6 weeks from 8:00 – 12:00. Work schedule can require travel to a location other than your primary location as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role
  • Basic Computer knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of ICS-10

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical Terminology
  • Previous experience with medical insurance verification or coding & billing
  • Previous experience with insurance verification, medical terminology, optometry and/or ophthalmic practice experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the billing department to ensure that claims are processed accurately
  • Evaluates chart data to verify all information has been received, completed, and signatures obtained by physician
  • Ensures proper authorization or referral is collected from patient
  • Assists patients in obtaining authorization or referrals not yet received
  • Enters updated patient demographic information into medical record
  • Assists with arranging appointments to outside referring doctors & requests medical records from other offices
  • Presents and collect fees, schedule next appointment when appropriate
  • Posts and reconciles patient payments
  • Scans documents, patient information, referral letters and other related information in a timely manner into EHR
  • Balances daily business activities and closes out each day’s receipts for deposits
  • Other duties as assigned
