ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a General Maintenance Technician to complete assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs.
Pay: $19-$25\Hr. Monday-Friday 1:30pm-10:00pm
The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the General Maintenance Technician is to address student and residence hall reactive / requested repairs and services and basic preventative maintenance work orders and maintain a safe environment for building occupants.

At times, must be available for after normal hours support and some weekend work.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 1- 2 years of basic maintenance experience as described in essential duties above, and 1 - 2 year of relevant experience in basic building maintenance and repair.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees or the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

A valid state driver's license.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Appropriate equipment will be provided for lifting over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee often works near moving mechanical parts and can be exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee periodically accesses high places via ladder and can be exposed to wet and/or humid weather conditions.
