Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Strong understanding of process development and process equipment development.
• Knowledge of blow and injection molding.
• Blow mold tooling design experience.
• Injection mold tooling design experience.
• Work with team to create changeover standards and develop equipment needed.
• Lead projects with external vendors and take initiative in new equipment vendor identification.
• Understanding of TPS and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Work with blow and injection molding process and downstream processes to continually improve the process for better financial performance and process stability.
• Understanding of GD&T The Manufacturing Engineer will design and acquire equipment, design safety guarding, troubleshoot ergonomic issues and provide solutions.
• Support Process and Setup teams as needed. Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose processing issues, and work with team to create positive actions to correct/improve.

• Work with internal and external teams to ensure the proper tools, fixtures, and additional equipment is in place to meet the required productivity, quality objectives, and cost objectives.
• Be a part of tooling, fixtures, gauges, and other equipment development and design. Ensuring that ABC Technologies will be able to meet productivity requirements, quality objectives, and cost objectives.
• Communicate with the ABC Technologies team and the customer to ensure both parties are aware of the program status.
• Assist in development and implementation APQP documents such as Flow Chart, PFMEA, Standardized Work Instructions, Open Issues List, and other documentation utilizing a team approach.
• Ensure that all aspects of the Process Engineering Department are in full compliance with the Quality System established and they are being followed.
• Conduct process studies and make recommendations to the team that will improve process, machine, and material improvements to enhance manufacturing and maintenance efficiencies.
• Utilize 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Standard Work to improve manufacturing efficiencies, floor space, and housekeeping.
• Participate in development of the annual business plan, long range plan, and other action oriented plans as directed by management.

Must be able to travel from time to time to assist with customer and / or quality issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, or related engineering field
• Engineering degree or 5 years Manufacturing Engineering experience within the automotive industry
