ABC Academy is Hiring an Early Childhood Education GSRP Program Director Near Jackson, MI

We are seeking a passionate GSRP Directorto oversee and manage our Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) program! This state funded program supports preschool age children.

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require bachelor’s degree with minimum of 18 early childhood education credits completed, minimum of 5 years of GSRP experience, and at least 2 years of leadership/management experience within a licensed childcare facility.

Required Shift: As the leader of the building, the Director must be able to meet the needs of the business, which requires a flexible schedule to accommodate day-to-day operations, emergent situations, as well as after-hours family and community events. The expectation is to be on-site Monday – Friday, arriving no later than 9am. All management schedules will be approved by the Regional Director.

Employment type: Full-time, 185 days per year

Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 a year, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities:

  • The GSRP Program Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the program, implement/plan programming, supervise staff, evaluate program effectiveness using the Program Quality Assessment Tool (validated rating instrument designed to measure the quality of early childhood programs and identify staff training needs), be familiar with child assessment and screening, have or gain a working knowledge of the Creative Curriculum for Preschool, its assessment tool, and ensure that all components of the program are running effectively and providing high-quality services to students and families.
  • Administer day-to-day operations of The Great Start Readiness Program, including registration, classroom placement, and being available to address parent, child, and staff issues.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate program and center policies.
  • Maintain compliance with all requirements of the State of Michigan childcare licensing (LARA), Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), and MiRegistry.
  • Monitors grant and licensing regulations to ensure compliance in all GSRP classrooms.
  • Maintains and updates the Great Start to Quality system and sustains at least 4 stars.
  • Oversees all GSRP personnel to guarantee professionalism, grant compliance, and that the culture is appropriate for all staff and students.
  • Enrolls students throughout the enrollment period. Is the main connection between teachers and families and communicates all community needs to the ECS to get proper support for families.
  • Oversee and monitor the Child Plus data system, ProCare, and Childcare Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and oversee MCIR (Michigan Care Improvement Registry) for keeping children’s immunizations up to date and managing the program’s roster.
  • Oversee and manage the food program partnership with the public-school districts to ensure the children are receiving meals in compliance with the Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
  • Oversee transportation partnerships with local school districts.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, attractive, and positive learning environment.
  • Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
