- Work with internal and external stakeholders and translate their needs into software requirements.
- Design the software architecture for a project by outlining the different subsystems and how they communicate with each other.
- Own the software life cycle, including development, testing, continuous integration and delivery and product operations.
- Lead the deployment of the project in collaboration with the operations team.
- Conceive and implement complex data pipelines to ingest data from multiple sources and process it for downstream machine learning algorithms.
- Use knowledge of software development methodologies and data processing frameworks to analyze raw data and build parallel data processing systems.
- Liaise with product managers and engineering manages to scope work for a team of software engineers.
- Plan and scope software systems for processing and exposing raw and processed data via application programming interfaces for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate the work of a team of software engineers and mentor junior engineers to efficiently deliver software features to customers.
- Develop a scalable and reliable architecture that facilitates the ingestion of customer event data, the generation of features for its learning models and the execution of those models while meeting performance requirements.
- Decide on the appropriate technologies to use, identify potential areas of risk and security considerations, develop testing frameworks such as load testing and unit testing, and conceive a monitoring plan in production to identify and resolve any issues that arise.
- Research new technologies and assess their potential benefit to the company.
- Use a variety of technologies and tools in performing job duties including: Python, SQL, Apache Beam, Airflow, pandas, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Postgres, Unix-based systems, git, Gitlab, CI/CD, gcloud CLI, Google Datastore, CloudRun, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Pub/Sub.
