Creates, modifies, and sends Purchase Orders. Uses a deep understanding of MRP and reorder methods to ensure we have the right inventory at the right time. Expedite orders based on project needs. Serves as a backup for other positions within the Supply Chain department. Primary duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

• Subject matter expert for planning strategies including min, max, VMI, days-of-supply, and forecast implementation within the Epicor ERP system.
• Point of escalation for other buyers with MRP/ERP issues.
• Analyze supply chain data to draw meaningful conclusions when solving problems or meeting goals.
• Purchasing of parts and materials in a timely manner as required by the production schedule.
• Expedite orders as necessary for project requirements or overdue POs.
• Actively assure parts arrive before they are required for assembly.
• Contact vendors about the lead time, pricing, and availability
• Work with Accounting, Receiving, and Vendors to clarify documentation where needed

Secondary duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

• Seek, find, and in some cases implement cost-reduction opportunities.
• Team up with the Lead Inventory Controller to solve MRP issues and inventory inaccuracies.
• Occasionally perform site visits with new or existing suppliers.
• Work with the Quality department to drive corrective action with suppliers on repeat issues.
• Back up to the Master Data Specialist for entering MOM and BOM into the ERP system.
• Develop and/or monitor KPIs and exception reports.
• Process vendor returns.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• BA/BS degree preferred, relevant experience considered.
• Extensive experience using MRP II-based ERP systems.
• Epicor or other ERP systems such as SAP/Oracle.
• Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably with complex assemblies with multi-level BOMs.
• Power BI
• Strong math skills
• Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities.
• Dependable and Trustworthy
• Excellent communication skills (writing, listening, speaking)
• Proficiency in MS Office including Excel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Efficiency in completing tasks and self motivated

• Regular attendance is required. The employee is required physically to be at the WARDJet facility during their scheduled work hours unless approved otherwise by the supervisor.
