Job Location: Dual Location - San Jose, CA
Salary Range: $23.50 - $25.00 Hourly

Description

Are you looking for opportunity to help older adults learn to use and leverage technology to transform their lives? You will be engaging, and training older adults to use technology that enhances their social engagement and improves their quality of life.

This is a part-time position. Morning or afternoon shifts available, anticipated hours 10pm-2pm, 4pm-6pm, or a combination based on candidate availability and business need.

Job purpose

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Program Specialist plans, promotes, and delivers a diverse mix of programming and events to increase social engagement and connectivity for Older Adults and Seniors, with a focus on technology training, increasing digital inclusion and digital literacy. 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Coordinate, plan, and implement digital literacy programs such as technology lectures, workshops, tablet/app programs and one-to-one tech assistance program, and technical support.
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment for prospective program participants.
  • Support program logistics including preparation and evaluation.
  • Facilitate internal and external referrals and partnerships with external community resources.
  • Supervise and coordinate volunteer shifts and schedules to facilitate the one-to-one tech assistance program at various programming locations including AACI offices and/or community partner locations.
  • Maintain weekly client-level data collection, entry, and tracking.
  • Assist with data and demographic analysis for grant reports.
  • Design and distribute marketing materials including social media/web presence.
  • Plan programmatic activities based on environmental trends in the community.
  • Represent agency program services at communitywide events. 
  • Complete other duties and related projects as assigned.

Qualifications


Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Highschool Degree or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a public-facing environment managing programs (community center, library, etc.).
  • Technologically proficiency in common consumer products (smart phones, tablets, digital applications).
  • Two or more years of experience working with adults ages 50 and over.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience with Canva, WordPress, Google Suite, and Mailchimp preferred.
  • One year or more of supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work productively independently and in a team.
  • Ability to maintain a valid California driver license, current personal auto insurance, and an MVR sufficient to maintain insurability under agency auto liability.
  • Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural, professional, and experiential backgrounds.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English required; bilingual in Cantonese, Vietnamese, or Mandarin preferred.

Working conditions

This job requires you to be in the community and other community partner sites. Work is often conducted in an office environment. Basic safety precautions and the use of protective clothing or gear are required. Driving is essential to the function of this job. The job requires travel up to 10% of the time.

The mental demands of the job include regular comprehension, reasoning and decision making, organizing, reading, and writing.
