Job Details

Job Location: 2400 Moorpark Avenue, Suite 300 - San Jose, CA
Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $132,000.00 Salary/year

Associate Director of Behavioral Health (Licensed)

Under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health, the Associate Director of the Family and Children's Program directs and coordinates the activities the Intensive Outpatient, Outpatient, School Based, Therapeutic Behavioral Services, Katie A, and Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Prevention Treatment (ADAPT) programs, monitoring quality, service, and productivity standards. Responsibilities include ensuring the Department meets contract deliverables, with attention to AACI and County Quality Standards.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee contract fulfillment, monitor progress on contract deliverables, prepare and present oral and written reports.
  • Research funding alternatives, develop justifications for budget requests for staffing, new programs, equipment, maintenance and enhancement of existing programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of programs and services provided by the department.
  • Support program managers in developing measurable outcomes.
  • Assists in the formation of administrative policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems.
  • Supervise, develop, and evaluate the performance of the staff.
  • Participate collaboratively in staff recruitment and retention.
  • Monitor and evaluate data, conduct data, budget analysis and reviews information to identify strengths and address areas of improvement.
  • Responsible for program staffing to ensure capacity and appropriate case assignment based on admissions/medical necessity criteria.
  • Interpret and assure the appropriate implementation of State and Federal regulations pertaining to Family and Children's programs and keep abreast of developments related to program activities.
  • Participate and provide clinical supervision, consultations, and trainings.
  • Conduct monthly chart audits in coordination with staff and Q/I team.
  • Represent AACI with funders, program monitors, community partners, and at association meetings and conferences. 
  • Maintain LPS 5150 Authorization certification and provide officer of the day support for crisis intervention.
  • Ensure appropriate and timely opening and closing of cases and coordination with billing department.
  • Assist with grant writing and reporting as necessary for programmatic operations.
  • Complete other duties and related projects as assigned.

Qualifications


Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • LMFT, LPCC, LCSW or Licensed Psychologist in the state of California.
  • Eight years or more clinical experience in behavioral health.
  • Four years or more supervisory and managerial experience.
  • Experience with electronic health records.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively allocate resources and personnel.
  • Ability to perform the duties described above.
  • Ability to lead, direct and manage staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Working knowledge of CalAIM documentation and county standards.
  • Knowledge of laws and ethical standards pertaining to Behavioral Health.

Competencies:

  • Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural professional and experiential background.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Working conditions

Work is conducted in an office environment inside a standard clinic setting. Basic safety precautions and use of protective clothing or gear may be required. Occasional evenings and weekend work is required. Working with clients who are seriously mentally ill, or high risk may increase exposure to secondary trauma.
