Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Personal Care Assistants. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care services. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and document administration accurately
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Provide companionship and engage in social activities with clients
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding as necessary
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and tidying up living spaces
- Follow care plans and communicate any changes in client's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Provide support for individuals with memory care needs or dementia
- Lift and transfer clients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices when necessary
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in personal care or a related field is preferred but not required
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to client's homes or facilities
- Knowledge of social work systems and resources for seniors is a plus
- Ability to administer medication accurately and safely
- Familiarity with memory care techniques and dementia care is beneficial
- Comfortable working in nursing homes or other senior care settings
