Job Summary:

Expert in the design and development of electronic layouts from client’s and manager’s verbal, written, and reference materials using appropriate Macintosh software. Responsible for creating and updating high-end marketing collateral and/or other source materials with minimal supervision.

Job Model: Fully Remote

All fully remote positions will require you to travel on site 2-4 times per month depending upon business needs at your own expense.

Hybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager.

On-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Must demonstrate expert-level creative skills in graphic design, graphic editing, typography, and layout design
  • A strong ability for conceptualizing, planning, process, and communicating goals
  • Comfort working as part of a team, and collaborating, while taking direction from the Creative Design Manager
  • Design and produce marketing collateral from initial concept to final output.
  • Responsible for the graphic design team’s creation, development and updating of electronic art files for brochures, installation instructions, data sheets, labels, and other marketing and sales support materials.
  • Final retouching, compositing, and/or enhancing photographs and line art
  • Assist the designers/freelancers with their illustration support needs
  • Interface with customers, co-workers, and Manager to determine design and project objectives
  • Coordinate and attend photography sessions to produce photos for design projects
  • Interface with printing vendors to review job specifications and to provide clarification on electronic preparation, color specification and related graphics.
  • Responsible for performing press proof approval and on-press customer approval of printed material.
  • Prepare materials for translation into requested languages and manage process with vendor and field checkers.
  • Proof final output against initial requirements to check for accuracy and consistency.
  • Create Work Requests, track, and update jobs using MarCom’s Work Request System.
  • Respond to daily art requests by supplying art and support to customers.
  • Remain current with emerging Macintosh platform trends, software and hardware.
  • Abide by department/corporate standards, based on established processes and standards.

  • Works with minimum supervision, decisions are made based on pre-established policies and procedures, as well as professional experience and judgment.
  • Special instructions given for new assignments.
  • Uses professional judgment to determine when a higher level of authority is necessary.
  • Keep pace with industry changes in technology, new media and software/hardware.
  • Recommends and implements changes, enhancements and/or cost-saving approaches that will drive improvements.

  • Advanced knowledge of a Mac environment and Creative Suite with a focus on Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Expert-level print design/production skills
  • Solid understanding of single to multi-color print production
  • Ability to recognize and adhere to established corporate graphic standards
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting required deadlines
  • Database and record keeping experience
  • Ability to problem-solve daily technical issues
  • Ability to identify and distinguish color
  • Ability to accurately proofread and spell.
  • Reading, writing and comprehension skills.
  • On-press proof approval experience.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Graphic Design or equivalent in education and related experience.
  • 8 years in-depth experience in a creative environment with emphasis on concept and design.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, co-workers and vendors.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
