A Plus Lawn is Hiring a Landscape Designer Near Des Moines, IA

Position Summary

Responsible for primary client contacts. Creating, pricing, and selling landscape, irrigation, night lighting, and property maintenance designs and projects. Providing outstanding customer satisfaction throughout any potential client's experience at A . Work cooperatively with other designers, managers, and crews to create a professional, efficient, and friendly environment.

Primary Duties

  • Responsible for primary client contact of assigned accounts and lead
  • Meets or exceeds site visit requirements
  • Meets or exceeds client contact requirements and timelines
  • Upsells through proactive efforts
  • Provide creative designs and accurate estimates
  • Become proficient with all A estimating procedures, Design Software, ServSuite, LMN, and Microsoft Office Programs for daily use
  • Achieve minimum sales requirements
  • Assists in A related staff support & projects
  • Participate in and staff Home Shows, Open Houses, and Community Groups
  • To be available for work Monday through Saturday, as scheduled, and be flexible with hours worked as required by seasonal schedule and weather conditions
  • Works well with office staff and other departments to promote a professional, efficient, and productive workplace
  • Promote Safety
  • Provide leadership
  • Gain and expand a thorough working knowledge of plant and hardscape materials
  • Follow and enforce company policy, vision, and core values
  • Assists with overseeing the successful implementation of jobs with the production manager and foreman
  • Provides written feedback for employee performance evaluations
  • Assists with employee training and developmental needs
  • Assists with product, equipment, and procedural research as needed
  • Participate in a yearend sales analysis, personal portfolio, and updates documents as required
  • Job not limited to this description
  • Ability to repeatedly lift at least 100 lbs using proper lifting techniques

Job requirements

· Ability to read blueprints and plans

· Ability to Identify plants and hardgoods

· Ability to create unique and accurate designs

· Ability to quote said designs in a manner profitable to A

· Ability to operate and maintain landscape equipment

· Ability to manage personnel and delegate tasks

· Have a valid DL and be able to operate large trucks, equipment, and trailers as needed

· Have good communication skills

· Be able to troubleshoot issues as they arise and evaluate priorities of job routines

Job Environment / Physical Requirements

Exposure to occasional noise from power equipment, saws, etc. (personal protective equipment available)

§ Outdoor temperature conditions typical of Iowa through winter, spring, summer, and fall

§ Outdoor exposure to conditions ranging from the sun, heat, wind, cold, snow, rain, etc

§ Exposure to materials and equipment that can cause cuts, abrasions, etc

§ Heavy repeated lifting (75 lbs or greater) required – use proper lifting techniques!

§ Repeated stooping, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, and walking necessary
