A.P. Moller - Maersk is Hiring an IT Support Tech I Near Fairburn, GA

An Operations Support Technician is the primary advocate of the end user. The Operations Support Technician is the one who interfaces with the end user, so it is important that they listen and observe their needs and try to assist them in doing their job in any way they can.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain end user equipment such as PCs, monitors, printers, and wireless devices
  • Installation and maintenance of operating systems, such as Windows, Android and MAC OS
  • Installation and maintenance of applications from the Microsoft suite, including the Word, Excel,

Outlook, and SharePoint

  • Installation and maintenance of network printers
  • Installation of CAT 5 cable in the office and warehouse. This includes physically installing the

premise cable and terminating the ends into patch panels and quick ports * Participate in an on-call phone rotation

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

  • Technical program completion, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with an e-commerce or logistics organization is a plus
  • Some level of programming or scripting (Batch, VB, C#, PowerShell, etc.) is desired

Technical Skills Desired

  • Technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills required with a heavy emphasis on troubleshooting
  • Understanding of computer networking:
  • Physical cabling using CAT 5/6
  • Basic switching concepts such as VLANs
  • A general understanding of the TCP/IP protocol and how to troubleshoot communications issues
  • Familiarity with the following platforms for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting:
  • Laser and thermal (Zebra) printers * Microsoft Windows 10
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Microsoft InTune

Additional Qualifications

  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite, and friendly manner, both written and

verbal

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a small business environment * Availability for after hours and on call on a rotational schedule

Physical Demands

  • The ability to work at a computer
  • The ability to bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44,000.00 - $62,000.00 per hour
