Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Correctional Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals within our correctional facility. This role requires a compassionate individual who is committed to delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial health assessments on newly admitted inmates to determine their healthcare needs.
• Provide ongoing healthcare services, including diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and record patient progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
• Respond to medical emergencies within the facility and provide appropriate interventions.
• Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
• Adhere to all healthcare policies, procedures, and regulations within the correctional facility.

Qualifications:

• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Ohio.
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in [Specialty] (e.g., Adult, Family, Psychiatric, etc.).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in a clinical setting; correctional healthcare experience preferred.
• Proficiency in conducting health assessments, diagnosing illnesses, and developing treatment plans.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a correctional environment.
• BLS/ACLS certification (current).
• Understanding of and commitment to patient confidentiality.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred.
