ProScan Imaging is seeking a full-time, Nurse Practitioner for our Columbus, OH region. This position works flexible hours Monday - Friday

General Description:

Nurse Practitioners are highly trained healthcare professionals who deliver comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and health promotion. They work in various healthcare settings, often collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

1. Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough patient assessments to gather medical history, relevant clinical information, and any contraindications to MRI or CT scans. Assess and document patient vital signs.

2. Imaging Preparation: Prepare patients for MRI and CT scans, ensuring they understand the procedure and any necessary preparations, such as fasting or contrast agents. Address patient questions or concerns.

3. Patient Comfort: Ensure patient comfort and safety during the imaging process. Address patient anxiety and claustrophobia by providing reassurance and support.

4. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies or adverse reactions during MRI/CT scans, and initiate appropriate interventions as necessary.

5. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including pre- and post-imaging assessments, administered medications, contrast agent use, and any complications.

6. Patient Education: Educate patients on post-imaging care and any potential side effects of contrast agents. Provide information on follow-up appointments and further diagnostic or treatment steps.

7. Quality Control: Ensure the quality and safety of MRI/CT scans by monitoring equipment, contrast agents, and infection control measures. Report any issues or maintenance needs.

8. Continuing Education: Stay updated on the latest developments in MRI and CT technology, radiology procedures, and contrast agents through ongoing education and professional development.

Required Qualifications at this Level

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Nurse Practitioner certification in a specific specialty.
  • State licensure and certification as an NP.
  • Prescriptive authority (if required by the state).
  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
