Position Summary:

The Manoogian School is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and innovative Elementary School Homeroom teacher. The successful candidate is intrinsically motivated to see the familiar in new ways and has a passion for work in the classroom. Collaboration within a dynamic K-12 grade school, creation of powerful learning experiences for the student body, commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents through interpersonal relationships, utilization of extensive school resources, setting a positive tone, and treating students as individuals within the context of a broader community, are all critical components of this position.

This full-time member of the Elementary School faculty teaches an elementary school homeroom class, contributes to the Manoogian School community, and leads an extracurricular activity. Additionally, it is understood that the successful candidate has a demonstrated commitment to work in a diverse and inclusive community.

Qualifications:

• This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field, with a master’s degree preferred.
• Student teaching, internship, or full-time teaching experience.
• Valid Michigan Department of Education, Elementary Education Certification in K-5, all subjects. (ZG or ZC Certification)
• Enthusiasm for teaching and working with adolescents.
• Excellent communication skills are expected of all teachers.
