JOB TITLE: Clinical Supervisor

DIVISION: Counseling Center

SUPERVISOR: Program Director

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt / Full-Time

LOCATION: Riverside office-A Coming of Age FFA & Counseling Center

COMPENSATION: $75,000 - $80,000 annually

ORGANIZATION MISSION STATEMENT

To serve as a bridge between dependency, reunification and permanency for children and their families in the foster care system.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the guidance of Program Director, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible to oversee activities of the mental health staff to ensure compassionate, effective and efficient delivery of high-quality services for consumers. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of staff that includes Mental Health Clinician, TAY Peer Support Specialist and Parent Partner. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for program(s) oversight, including quality assurance, program compliance, and documentation in adherence to required federal, state, funder, and Agency standards. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for upholding and supervising the Agency’s practice rules, policies and procedures.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree in a related field and a minimum of (2) years of behavioral health direct service experience. Completion of DHCS-approved Peer Support Supervisory training within 60-days from date of hire to supervise Certified Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialists

Must be licensed with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as a LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Meets all state required conditions of employment as set forth by funder and Community Care Licensing for a Licensed Community Care facility, i.e. Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health Physical. Valid CDL and clean driving record.

Meets all compliance requirements of federal, state, and country regulations by periodic sanction checks.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Under the direction of the Program Director, oversees the day-to-day utilization of mental health staff within the counseling center pertaining to the System of Care contract.

· Under the direction of the Program Director, manage the utilization of mental health staff within the System of Care program to operational, contractual, and practice standards.

· Under the direction of the Program Director, manage the utilization of mental health staff within the System of Care program to agency safety, practice, and policy standards.

· Under the direction of the Program Director, manage the utilization of mental health staff the System of Care program to the agency’s Best Practice and Quality Assurance efforts including compliance to data tracking systems and program specific outcome measurements.

· Accurately report incidents, grievances, complaints, issues and concerns and the related documentation to the Program Director in a timely manner.

· Be prepared for and attend regular supervision / administrative meetings with the Program Director, CEO.

· Under the direction of the Program Director, assist in the hiring, orientation, supervision, and evaluation of program staff.

· In consultation with the Head of Service and the CEO, complete performance management actions, inclusive of termination, as necessary.

· Provide on-going coordination and oversight of mental health staff to all program services, requirements, and duties, as performed by supervisees.

· Conduct and document regular individual supervision with supervisees, as per program requirements.

· Monitor the quality and timely submission of required case/service documentation.

· Provide support and intervention to supervisees when needed.

· If required by program design, provide back-up on-call support to designated on-call program staff.

· If required by program design or in the absence of assigned peer support specialist, provide direct service as per program guidelines.

· Participate in and conduct program related trainings.

· Complete administrative functions (time sheet, mileage, time off requests, credit card submissions, other expense reimbursements, and weekly schedule, etc.) on time and in accordance with agency policy. Oversee the timely and accurate administrative functions for those supervising.

· Participate in group supervision, staff meetings and special events, as required.

· Maintain client and case confidentiality per Agency, funder, state and federal requirements.

· Prepare and conduct timely, accurate evaluations of employees under his/her supervision.

· Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences.

· Represent self and Agency in a professional manner and abide by the Agency’s Professional Code of Ethics.

· Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with staff, clients, community partners and other constituencies.

· Preform additional duties as assigned by and in support of the Program Director and CEO

· Carry a caseload and perform client-related services as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee shall work in a non-hostile work office environment. The employee is expected not to engage in any activity that unreasonably interferes with performance of any other employee, such as sexual harassment, unlawful discrimination or any other behavior that unduly demeans or intimidates another employee. As an essential function of this position, the employee must be able to handle levels of stress satisfactorily and always be congenial with other employees, clients, and other agencies. Work environments vary from a climate-controlled office setting to working outdoors with temperatures ranging from mild/moderate to extreme cold/heat.

· Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.

· Ability to push and pull objects up to (40) pounds.

· Ability to carry up to ten (10) pounds frequently, and twenty (20) pounds occasionally.

· Ability to lift up to ten (10) pounds frequently, and twenty (20) pounds occasionally.

· Ability to exhibit a full range of motion for shoulder, elbow, back, hip and knee.

· Ability to sit for extended periods of time, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, climb, and walk.

· Ability to climb stairs, slopes, steps, ramps, and ladders.

· Ability to work in a wide range of weather conditions.

· Kneeling, bending at the waist and reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally to retrieve and store files and supplies.

· Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and effective manner.
