Position Title: PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Supervises: Program Supervisor, Receptionist, Direct Services Staff, Consultants

Classification: Exempt

Work Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday, or as arranged

Salary Range: $40,000-$55,000; Commensurate with Experience (sufficient to meet state and federal minimum wage and benefit laws)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Attainment of at least 18 years of age;
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field and a minimum of 18 months experience in the management of a human services delivery system – or – a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a human services delivery system including at least two years in a management or supervisory position;
  • Knowledge of the requirements for providing the type of care and supervision needed by clients and the ability to communicate with such clients;
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with applicable law and regulation;
  • Ability to maintain or supervise the maintenance of financial and other records;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication and decision making skills;
  • Experience and/or ability to recruit, employ, train, and evaluate qualified staff, and to terminate employment of staff;
  • Ability to establish the facility’s policy, program and budget;
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible;
  • Valid California Driver License, adequate transportation including valid automobile insurance and current registration, and a clean DMV record
  • Upon offer of employment provide evidence of good physical health. Good physical health is to be verified by a health screening and a test for tuberculosis, performed by or under the supervision of a physician not more than one year prior or seven days after employment;
  • Upon offer of employment, complete a Statement of Prior Criminal Conviction, obtain a California Criminal Clearance (Live-Scan Fingerprinting) or a Criminal Record Exemption, obtain and maintain required training (including but not limited to First Aid, CPR, and CPI)

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the service system for adults with developmental disabilities in the State of California.
  • An understanding and commitment to the philosophy of normalization, inclusion, positive programming, and consumer driven services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overall operation of service office
  • Development of individual service plans, quarterly and semi-annual annual reviews, sending documentation to consumer, family, CPR, and other involved parties;
  • Attends consumer related meetings
  • Conducts intake assessments
  • Builds consumer census and maintains required staff to consumer ratios;
  • Ensures overall quality of program and physical plant;
  • Implements program curriculum;
  • Interviews, selects and trains all service office staff;
  • Supervises all staff to ensure plans and schedules are implemented;
  • Reviews staff documentation and data;
  • Ensures appropriate community integration hours are met;
  • Dispenses consumer medication
  • Prepares and monitors daily groupings
  • Conducts and documents disciplinary action for all staff;
  • Conducts employee evaluations
  • Acts as licensed administrator, responding to all licensing issues;
  • Prepares incident reports and manages service office budget
  • Implements program design
  • Conducts staff development and training, and provides crisis management assistance to staff;
  • Ensures consumer safety and appropriate supervision
  • Ensures appropriate communication with planning team
  • Prepares and applies documentation for incidental medical waivers
  • Provides positive reinforcement to staff
  • Evaluates staff and monitors output of daily statistics
  • Schedules and plans staff meetings
  • Responsible to maintain and protect company property against theft, loss or misuse
  • Completes required training (CPR, First Aid, CPI, etc.) as required
  • Other duties as assigned
