A Better Choice Home Health Care is a new and emerging home health care agency in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania that wants to be the home care provider and employer of choice in Allegheny, Washington, Westmoreland and surrounding communities for home health care needs.
It’s become clear in the last few years how essential caregivers are as we rely on your skills to help our family members not just for assistance with their basic needs but also companionship in times of isolation.
As a home health aide at A Better Choice Home Health Care, you will build relationships, improve the quality of life, as well as serve elderly and disabled individuals in need of love, care, and companionship while in their home. Your goal will be to help individuals enjoy life by helping them perform their simple daily functions such as meal prep, light exercise, local transportation (if needed), social interactions and housekeeping. Your compassion and diligence as a caregiver will bring joy into the lives of the clients you work with and help them feel encouraged, involved, and loved, as well as give their families a sense of easy that someone is helping alleviate some of the burden from their shoulders.
We have multiple openings for home health aides to join our growing team. To excel in this role, you should have an interest in health care and the ability to work with limited supervision keeping the patient's needs as your top priority. We are looking for individuals that are compassionate, trustworthy, reliable, and service minded.

Job Responsibilities:
· Monitors patient condition by observing physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise.
· Supports patients by providing housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household requirements, preparing and serving meals and snacks, and running errands.
· Assists patients by providing personal services, such as, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
· Helps patients care for themselves by teaching use of cane or walker, special utensils to eat, special techniques and equipment for personal hygiene.
· Helps family members care for the patient by teaching appropriate ways to lift, turn, and re-position the patient.
· Advises on nutrition, cleanliness, and housekeeping.
· Records patient information by making entries in the patient care plan and notifying service coordinator of changes or unusual conditions.
· Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment and procedures, maintaining security precautions, and following prescribed dietary requirements and nutrition standards.
· Protects the home care agency by adhering to professional standards, home care policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
· Enhances service reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

· Pay Rate- We offer a competitive pay rate that is in line with industry standards for similar agency’s which starts between $11-$14 an hour depending on your experience.
Home Health Aides Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED
· Reliable transportation
· Must be at least 18 years old
· Must be able to provide references
· Ability to work with limited supervision
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
· Have good personal hygiene
· Minimum of 1 year or more experience
· Must be able to pass a Home Health Aide competency test(state required) yearly
