Underground Printing (UGP’s) Mission Statement is to help bring customer communities to life through custom branded apparel & merchandise.

Underground has experienced rapid growth, ranking in the Inc 5000 fastest growing companies 9 times, including 2019. We produce all of our printed apparel in our production facility in Michigan & with 172,000 SF of screen printing and embroidery production and over 250 employees. We consistently rank in the top 10 largest screen printers by volume in the U.S. and are one of the fastest growing online clothing retailers.

We serve both B2C and B2B customers such as non profits, retailers, and Universities through our store and office locations across the United States. Additionally we help brands and licensors sell online both through company branded and marketplace websites.

We are seeking qualified candidates who are highly motivated, efficient and reliable to join our team at our Ypsilanti production facility and warehouse which is close to the AATA bus line!

Position schedule will be 8 hours a day 5 days a week Monday - Friday. Starting rate will be $16.00/hour.

Requirements:

Production Operations:

• Set up and operate production equipment and machinery according to standard operating procedures.
• Ensure quality control by inspecting finished products for defects or inconsistencies.
• Follow production schedules and work orders to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Use a Heat Press Machine to apply pre-cut numbers, letters, or graphics to garments and bags.
• Execute all job tasks consistently by following established standard operating procedures.

Material Preparation:

• Prepare materials and supplies needed for the production process, such as garments, ink, threads, or other necessary components.
• Measure and set up materials according to specifications.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of materials and report shortages or discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist in managing the flow of materials to ensure continuous production.
• Maintain supplies by receiving and stocking materials in designated areas 
• Maintain neat and orderly workspace at all times 

Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate with other production team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production processes.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide support and assistance to team members as needed.
• Contribute to a positive and productive work environment.

Quality Assurance:

• Follow established quality control processes and guidelines to ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• Identify and report any quality issues or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide input on process enhancements.
• Maintain accurate records of quality checks and inspections.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
• Follow proper handling and disposal procedures for hazardous materials, if applicable.
• Participate in safety training programs and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.

Continuous Improvement:

• Seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
• Provide feedback and suggestions to supervisors regarding production processes, equipment, and workflow.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in production techniques and technologies.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.

Additional Information:

• All production team members will support projects and tasks as assigned by production supervisors in support of on time delivery to customers, this may include working in other production areas other than Heat Press, including fulfillment services.
• Must be able to work on feet for duration of the shift 
• Must have a High School diploma or GED
• Must be able to work independently and with a team 
• Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities including pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc.
• Must not have any type of lifting restrictions
