Summary: This role will be a key contributor to minerals processing equipment development, specifically filtration technology (plate and frame pressure filtration as well as vacuum filtration), filtration processing, filtration testing, filtration equipment. The candidate should have a strong minerals processing foundation with mechanical aptitude, metallurgical/process/chemical/mechanical background with an expert knowledge of theoretical and experimental processes to aid product developments and improvements. Job responsibilities This is for a R&D Engineer to lead teams and projects from idea to commercialization, with specific experience in minerals processing, specifically, filtration. The candidate should have a strong minerals processing foundation with product development aptitude. The R&D Engineer contributes to all phases of R&D project life-cycle as technical resource or as technical lead. The role contributes to the development of solutions to complex technical challenges and leads research and development evaluations, designing and providing recommendations for stakeholders. Projects may include research and technology development for new concepts, or improvements and optimization of existing/current products in the minerals processing industry. Champions FLSmidth safety culture Designs solutions with multiple technical disciplines including mechanical engineering, fluid dynamics, process engineering, electrical and automation engineering, and others. Directs research tasks, concept development, design and design verification, and validation across the whole project life cycle, ensuring task completion and budget management. Leads or completes technical reports, design calculations, product modeling, manufacturing drawings, product manuals, parts lists, and other necessary technical documentation for the project, by engaging with other experts and project resources and by utilizing state of the art engineering and analysis tools, with high quality and in timely manner. Leads (up to 3 - 4) projects as well as participate as team members across various areas.
