JOB SUMMARY

Cedars at Dungeness is currently seeking an Irrigation Specialist to join our team at the golf course! This important role involves maintaining and repairing our irrigation systems to ensure the optimal health and appearance of our beautiful golf course! Apply now! The Irrigation Specialist is responsible for the operation, installation, maintenance and repair of the golf course irrigation system. Accountable for the install, maintenance and repair the golf course drainage system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist superintendent with preventative maintenance of irrigation system.
• Perform periodic watering of tees, fairways, and greens.
• Repair irrigation system defects.
• Assist superintendent in maintaining parts inventory.
• Perform preventative maintenance on pump station.
• Operate main pumps and controllers.
• Check irrigation system daily for leaks, wet areas and dry spots.
• Operate and maintain light utility vehicles and powered equipment.
• Train maintenance employees in irrigation processes.
• Record changes in irrigation system component routings or locations on the working copy of the system as-built drawings.

QUALIFICATIONS

• One to three years golf course maintenance experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of essential irrigation principles and system functions.
• Ability to manually excavate irrigation components as needed.
• Understanding of agronomy, turfgrass science and Rules of Golf.
• Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds and landscape area maintenance work.
• Ability to operate light motorized equipment.
