Construction Superintendent

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage all aspects of construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of construction processes and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement detailed construction plans and schedules, including resource allocation, to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Site Management: Supervise all on-site construction activities, including subcontractor coordination, material procurement, and equipment utilization, to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Quality Control: Monitor workmanship and construction quality to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications, implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain high standards.
  • Budget Management: Manage project budgets and expenses effectively, tracking costs, reviewing invoices, and making adjustments as necessary to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety inspections and implementing corrective measures to mitigate potential hazards and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership and direction to construction teams, motivating and guiding personnel to achieve project objectives while fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal team members, to facilitate project progress and address any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve project challenges and issues in a proactive and efficient manner, leveraging technical expertise and sound judgment to overcome obstacles and keep projects on track.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Generate accurate and timely project reports, documenting progress, milestones, and any deviations from plans or specifications, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders regularly.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate construction teams.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • OSHA certification and thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
