Seeking EXPERIENCED field inspector for coverage in and around Birmingham. These inspections include verifying occupancy of residences, leaving door hangers, inspecting insurance losses, and walking though vacant properties. All inspections and reports are completed at the property with an app on your iPhone. Inspectors must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, GPS, computer with printer and scanner, and the ability to use routing software to optimize up to 50 addresses that you will drive to daily. Inspectors are required to pass a background check. Although you will be in control of your own schedule, inspectors must have weekday availability; this is NOT strictly a night/weekend job. Inspections have strict due dates and a substantial amount of driving is required on a daily basis. You will be a 1099 independent contractor. There is no fuel or travel reimbursement; however you should be able to use your mileage as a tax deduction. Inspectors must be reliable, able to work independently and efficiently to meet strict due dates. If you are a self starter and enjoy working alone and controlling your own schedule then this might be a great position for you. Retirees who are proficient with technology and like getting out and about also tend to do very well as field inspectors. You will be paid per inspection completed.
