540 is Hiring a JavaScript Engineer, Team Lead Near Arlington, VA

540 is looking for a JavaScript Engineer that will act as a Team Lead on one of our projects. This person will lead a small team of developers who are improving the efficiency of data sharing within the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). We are looking for a startup-minded individual to work within an Agile team focusing on full stack development with JavaScript / Typescript, Node, NestJS and React primarily.

PROJECT

On this project, you will be supporting FDIC’s Bankfind Suite (BFS), formerly known as Public Facing Applications (PFA). The BFS is a suite of applications that allow users to search FDIC’s extensive data records. This includes the ability to locate current and former FDIC-insured institutions in addition to following historical and financial trends of individual institutions, groups of institutions or the industry as a whole. 540 is responsible for providing technical leadership and capabilities for the agile delivery of modernizing and migrating on-premise applications to the cloud.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years of software development experience with JavaScript / Typescript
  • 3 years of React or component-based UI framework experience
  • 3 years of NodeJS experience
  • Experience managing development teams
  • API / data-driven web application experience
  • Familiarity with Git repositories
  • Experience writing unit and end-to-end tests
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communication skills, verbal and written to both technical and non-technical audiences through remote communication tools
  • Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and analysis
  • Initiative to recommend process improvements and demonstrate creative thinking
  • Must have or be able to attain a United States security clearance
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • Elasticsearch

  • Financial data experience
  • Data analysis background
  • Experience with Azure DevOps

  • Experience working with Cloud.gov
  • Client requirements gathering experience
