About the role: BSI Consulting partners with clients to achieve their environmental, health, safety and sustainability short-term needs and long-term goals. We occasionally need NYC DOB Licensed Superintendents (SUPER) to work on an hourly, part-time, as needed basis at client sites in the NY Tri-State Area. The SUPER will perform the duties on various construction projects throughout the NY Metropolitan Area. Prior construction safety experience is required. Candidates without the required certifications will not be considered. Required Certifications: Supervisor SST Card – 62 Hours (required) NYC DOB Site Safety Superintendents License (required) Responsibilities: Duties as required by Chapter 33 of the NYC Building Code Duties as required by Chapter 8 and Chapter 14 of the FDNY Code Duties as required by 1926 OSHA Standards for Construction Ensure compliance for the safety of site workers and general public Develop safety kick-off presentations and conduct on-site orientations and pre-shift meetings Conduct daily site safety inspections, safety assessments and safety audits Investigate all accidents and complete all required paperwork Conduct risk assessments Make recommendations concerning the modification, improvement, or removal of any company equipment, facilities, or machinery that is hazardous to employee safety or health Compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports as requested by management or customer Serve as company liaison with Overseeing Municipalities, OSHA, Insurance carriers and other regulatory agencies Maintain all safety related documentation Education/Qualifications: Minimum three (3) years of construction safety management experience Working knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques and methods Knowledge of OSHA-CFR 1926 “Construction Safety & Health”, the New York City Department of Buildings Construction Safety requirements, Chapter 33 and FDNY Code Chapters 8 and 14 Fluent in English, written and verbal Ability to teach and train others on safety programs Ability to plan and implement projects Ability to identify known potential exposures and recommending corrective action Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) Certified Health and Safety Technician (optional) Certified Safety Professional (optional) NYS DOL Asbestos Inspector License (optional) C-3 Supervisor / Competent Person Training for De-Leading (optional) What we offer: BSI offers a competitive salary, group-sponsored health and dental, short-term and long-term disability, a company-matched 401k plan, company paid life insurance, 11 paid holidays and 4 weeks paid time off. The salary for this position can range from $70,000 - $94,930 annually; actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's competencies, level of experience, education, location, divisional budget and internal peer compensation comparisons.
