Role: Associate Consultant based out of the Northeast with travel to client sites. Responsibilities may include: Conducting industrial hygiene exposure assessments (qualitative and quantitative) Conducting Health and safety auditing or assessments Creating industrial hygiene sampling strategies Creating industrial hygiene sampling plans Creating or updating IH or Safety programs/procedures Writing technical reports based on field work Training and/or supervising junior staff Required Qualifications: BA/BS in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health or related Industrial Hygiene/Occupational Health discipline. Minimum 3 years independently performing Industrial Hygiene Risk Assessments, Exposure Monitoring, and Investigations, Suggesting and Establishing Exposure Controls, Utilizing and Maintaining IH Sampling and Analysis Equipment, Completing Technical Reports, and Maintaining Legal Documentation for all IH Related Activities. US Citizen (Homeland Security Requirement) Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and ability to research regulations. Strong technical knowledge of industrial hygiene and safety principles Ability to work as part of a team, involving them as part of the decision making for risk reduction activities Strong Technical Writing Capabilities Ability to Multitask, Track Projects, and Successfully Follow Up on Open Tasks to meet deadlines Ability to Take Direction/Follow Direction/Be Trusted to Work Independently/know when to ask questions Strong Communication Skills Strong Investigation Skills with Significant Experience Ability to wear a respirator and protective clothing, climb a ladder, and lift and carry up to 40 pounds, occasionally Ability to visually inspect work areas, assess conditions of use, and use Industrial Hygiene related sampling equipment Strong Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn new software such as Ajera, Workday, etc. Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing and troubleshooting exposure control systems (fume hoods, gloveboxes, BSCs, and other) Strong Customer Service Skills Experience in pharmaceutical, industrial, petrochemical, technology/entertainment, healthcare industries Experience Teaching or Speaking to Large Groups Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or multiple years’ experience managing an Industrial Hygiene Program What we offer: BSI offers a competitive salary, group-sponsored health and dental, short-term and long-term disability, a company-matched 401k plan, company paid life insurance, 11 paid holidays and 4 weeks paid time off. The salary for this position can range from $80,00 - $110,000 annually; actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's competencies, level of experience, education, location, divisional budget and internal peer compensation comparisons.
